ASA San Marino was founded in the 1960s, and soon became a leader in the Italian metal packaging market as one of the major suppliers of cans for food oil packing.

For many decades a leading metal packaging supplier for the most important brands on the European oil market (Sasso, Bertolli, Berio, Cuore, etc), thanks to its comprehensive Italian market presence, the ASA Group can also cater for smaller customers guaranteeing excellent service, prices and indisputable quality.
In recent years, ASA San Marino has invested heavily in the development of its lithography and preprinting departments, and in the year 2000 it was the first metal packaging company to buy a six-colour printing machine with UV technology. In the preprinting department, the old film development process needed to produce lithographic plates has been replaced with advanced digital technology, and this new CTP (computer-to-plate) process allows printing plates to be produced internally at ASA San Marino directly from digital files.
A few years ago a Research & Development department was introduced, with the aim of creating new markets for metal packaging.
ASA San Marino has a workforce of about 150 persons, including both administrative staff and production personnel, and it has a technical office with three persons, a workshop with a staff of six, and an R&D section composed of two persons. These resources are all intensely involved in this new project.
